The Pietrucha Group delivered aluminium closure system installed at the Sławęcice Sluice as part of the modernization of the Gliwice Canal.
The Gliwice Canal connects the industrial cities of Upper Silesia with the Oder River. The length of this waterway is just over 40 km, and the average depth is about 3.5 m; the difference in levels between the ports of Gliwice and Koźle is 44 m. The construction of the canal began in 1934 and was completed in 1939. The Gliwice Canal was the most modern waterway of this type in Europe at that time.
